Poll

Are you familiar with demoscene artwork and if so does it influence you?

Demo-what??!?
I have seen some stuff people have posted here, but that's it.
I know it, but it does not really float my boat, i'd rather do sprites.
I know and like it, but never attempted anything like it.
I know it and I try to use demoscene stylings in my work.
I know it and I aspire to make big pictures like Amiga 500 stuff for example.
I am in the Demoscene.
I used to be in the Scene, but not anymore.

Where do you stand in regards to the Demoscene movement and artistic styles?

I voted for the wrong option by mistake :p I know it and HAVE attempted it, but my interest isn't any more or less than any of the other distinct pixel styles I see; my roots for pixel art are strongly in the Amiga era (something which is evident in almost all of my pixels), but as I learned more and pixeled more, my interests broadened a whole freaking lot

I know it and like it and have known various demo scene contributors over my career - I've been a bit too busy making games though to get involved personally - plus I've always had a social life, and (generally speaking) a girl friend to keep entertained...  so I've not really got into it per se - but had my life been a bit different to what it has been then sure... I could easily imagine getting 'into it'...

@evil-ville: imo youve already captured a very demosceneish style in your work.

I used to find it awesome in the early days of 286-486's when they would get the most of the system. Though since then I've lost interest.

i love looking at demoscene - but i would love to be able to be good and patient enough to do it.

some pieces just look too much like photos/cg, i like the ones where you can tell it has been pixelled.

Demoscene and the Cyberpunk, two things that always inspired and scared me at once.

Back in the "old days" (not so old actually, it was 1999/2002), I used to be around the local scene; was watching, reading and sending shit to friends. Like a silent watcher or something, not even a swapper.

Never attempted on my own, unfortunately. I was a kid after all.

(I didn`t choose the I know it and I try to use demoscene stylings in my work option, because it`s something I`m still aiming for but haven`t done yet.)

pedantic edit

Still very much active in the scene, but as a coder. When I started in the C64 scene back in the late eighties I did graphics aswell, but MAN where those some ugly logos!  I should try to dig them up so we can all have a good laugh.
Since then I have realised that art wasn't my department.

-edit-

Managed to find a screenshot of an old demo. Triad logo pixeled by me, all other graphics by better artists!  ;D

To be honest I think the logo is the best thing in that picture.
