Why would a robot breath?

The running animation IS odd. For the longest time I couldn't quite put my finger on what was exactly wrong with it, but now I think I know.. not enough weight - he appears to glide above the ground. Can it be because of the shadow? It looks like it is projected directly above the feet, yet the body does not cast the shadow in the same direction.
Thanks to you all.I like the new flame and the abundant white lightning, it makes the creature look sacred and mystique.
I did a new version before seeing qunit's words. Here it is :
I moved the lightsource (edited almost al the fur), tweaked the palette and trying a different flame technique. Is it worse or better ?
I might have a go at qunit's way though an edit would have helped to understand.
The face is still untouched, and I'll definately rework the front right leg.
Ok, Sokota asked me to make a walk/run animation for the Patrick O'Grady sprite, but he/I don't think it's perfect yet, so I am posting it here. I am not all that skilled in pixel art, but I am (or at least, I thought I was) ok at animating. I animated a few other walking characters for the team, so I have a little bit of experience with it, but not much. So, here it is:Make its arms move.
Could someone help me figure out how to improve it, and make it more smooth/realistic? Thanks.
