Booom! Splash screen

on: April 27, 2006, 01:24:44 pm
Also posted on pixeljoint, this is my first fully pixelled bigger piece, without usage of brushes or filters.

pretty nice, some of the shading is a bit too linear, and the water could have a dither to smooth it out more, but its fine as it is. i think the submarine should have stronger highlights since the explosion is right there

love it.  it is important to capture a feeling when making art.  this has some errors and technical shortcomings but it shines anyway. love the fogged horizon.

wars font was a poor choice imho, top half of logo is top knotch.

is this wip or complete?

Mmm...I disagree.  I think dithering would give the water a different texture than you may want.

mmm... loving this, got a really nice feel to it. Disagree on the dithering too, but second the suggestion to make brighter highlights on sub.

Thank you for your kind comments.

lief: I consider it finished piece but open to improvement, thus I accept suggestions on how to make it better.

Ryumaru: I like the water texture as it is now and Iīm not gonna change it. I tried to dither it before but it just didnīt look right to me. Stronger highlights on sub could help though, thanks.

looks nice, though at first i thought it was a pineapple falling on the ship, and now i can get that image out of my head lol
A mistake is a mistake.
The same mistake twice is a bad habit.
The same mistake three or more times is a motif.
