You should arrange the isles in a way so you know which part goes where and so it's comfortable for you to draw on them while packing them together as tightly as you can to get the best out of the tiny resolution.
At least that is how I interpreted it. Correct me if I'm wrong.

Yeah that sounds about right,
I decided to tone my models down a bit to more simple shapes to get a better idea of what I'm doing xD
