it looks like either a really young man wearing a fake beard, or santa claus with his hair dyed blond.

what's it supposed to be?

starting to look better, his head still looks like a lightbulb. you should try putting another color in the face.

Pixel Art / my avatar... has a moogle in it! [WIP]
« on: July 17, 2007, 09:58:06 pm »
hey guys, decided to take a break on the dino thingy (http://www.wayofthepixel.net/pixelation/index.php?topic=4515.0)
and work on something new.

so i decided to do something small. hmm.. okay, i thought i would do an avatar, since they're usually small. so i animated the avatar when i got all finished and here it is:

then, i tried to upload it to a forum i visit, but animated avatars are not allowed, and they must be a certain resolution. so i rearranged everything, made it smaller. here's that:

i am happy with the way it turned out, but it could probably be better. i would like some C+C on the animated moogle and my non-animated avatar!

Pixel Art / Re: [wip] sword shading
« on: July 17, 2007, 07:56:55 pm »
really looks a lot nicer with the shading... maybe you will still need that spine.

you should antialias the front side of the blade now, to take away the sketchyness and to give it more of a rounded quality. i don't think you need to antialias the back because it blends in really well.

big improvement. looks a lot better.

if you shade the back side and stuff a little more, the outline of the spine down the middle wouldn't be necessary ;)

While quite lovely lighting is done, it's all very sketchy.

Yes, there is nothing that a little Antialiasing can't fix  :D

(especially on the stalag[wahtevers] that are hanging down)

great improvement.

you can fix the slouching by moving his arms farther apart. do you notice how they're slightly overlapping his body? if you move them apar by about 3 pixels on both sides, and shorten his arms a bit he won't look like he's slouching.
