That palette organizer site ( PALETTE SORTER )

on: September 26, 2009, 01:40:51 am
Searched all over, can't find the dang thing, coulda sworn I bookmarked it - I need a link to that site hosting a palette organizing tool. You upload an image and it parses the image and spits out a palette of the images colors, organized by luminosity, etc.

The site is primarily black and has graphics from some outer space pixel art side scroller game as the working example. If you still have a link, please share it. Thanks!

Searching subjects for palette this was quite far up. Using the forum search function is awesome!

Tho the link was removed because of a trojan, but I guess if you go to the dudes site you will find it, have not checked.
There are no ugly colours, only ugly combinations of colours.

yeah yeah yeah alright, thanks man, very helpful of you, I usually suck at finding things

Palette sorting tool. Feed it an image and it outputs a fairly organized palette. I haven't really checked it for accuracy but I assume it works like it should.

PALETTE SORTER

*EDIT, the results are a little unpredictable, but it's still quite neat. Working with the EGA palette, I was curious what it might do - http://img10.imageshack.us/img10/484/egafullpalette64colors.gif - a good EGA pal GIF, if you want to test Palette Sorter. The ramps it finds are interesting. If you use PNG's, they must be indexed, otherwise it finds no colors; needs a color table apparently, which makes sense - it's not parsing the image like a bitmap filter, it's just reading the color table.
