[WIP] - Smooth dancer

on: March 28, 2009, 08:07:09 pm

I just made someting black for practising my AA on, but then all of a sudden I saw a torso, and.. yeah, typical me.
The anatomy is quite alright(?) but I can't get the colours right however.
Untill guy number 5 everything was going alright but now hes just a mess!
Anything else that looks off? Let me know!

I'dd say the hat is too shaded. The rest of the sprite is quite light, and all of a sudden the hat is mostly shadow.

I think you mean too dark.

I think there's the issue of banding all on the collar and hat.
The lightest grey is too light. It's almost white. Change it to sort of bridge the gap between your darker colors and that white or leave it and change the white to bridge the gap.
Take care of that and you'll be golden.

Rewinded a bit on the hat and remowed the collar and made his shirt glossy. Not quite sure what palette I should use on the hat. And should I go with the plain black skin? There's not depth! And shoes.. it might clarify what position he is in?

Thanks!

me personally, i liked the collar. the hat looks about right in my eyes. i also do like the glossy feel of the shirt.

your choice of color, is your voice of color

A different approach.
I have no idea what a spotlight shine should look like, but this is my version of it, I'm also thinking about adding a background, a crowd or something.

I think that you put another dark tone for the hat.

Sorry for bumping, but my internet went down for.. yeah too long.. so I havent been able to upload any updates, until now.

The palette is still a bit confusing for me, still can't get them quite right though. I think a new palet is needed, aspecially some new colours for gray/greenish, the AA looks terrible with these!

Thanks!
