iPhone Game - Mecho Wars

on: March 03, 2009, 11:11:07 am

I recreated 2 screens from the game that were posted on kotaku, but without the NPA of course.

Overworld sprites were co-made by OSM.

Here's the background unblocked.

Any C+C is welcome.

Just a few of the sprite animations I've done on this.
I apoligize for white bkgs

Okay well I really want to post these at some point; I am an assistant animator on this project.
They're all what I'd call paper doll animation... Also known as lazy animating, but I couldn't think of how else to do it with the given style.
All sprites were pixel rendered by badassbill as far as I know, I may be wrong though.
I'm sorry for some of them being pretty sloppy and not very cleanly pixeled...
Doing a quick do over on all the sprite problems I see asap.

His wings aren't very clean.
And the flap isn't really too convincing I don't think or at least maybe the last frame...

This guy's wings I'm trying to think of what to do, but he doesn't use them they're just there for prop value apparently he floats with his cloak.

They all look extremely nice. My only complaint is all the movement might seems too busy. The fact that that guy's mask pops forward seems like overkill, etc.

Yes, I see quite a few places that could benefit from some subpixelling. But they do look great.  :)
