Haven't tried to turn that new style into pixels yet, but at least it gets great out of my pencil.

(that promise to be challenging to work on :P)

The new design indeed is much more megaman. And the links seem to only work when directly copied and pasted into the browser (PS: I hate blogspot for being 1) findable with google images and 2) existing)

that should hopefully fix the blogspot-don't-like-external-referers thing.

@that megamanX stuff ...

sigh. They seem to have changed the look of megaman so often with time that it seems hopeless to distinguish clearly...
any hint on "what specific parts of his design make you identify him more as megaman" is welcome ... as well as comments on the pixeling itself. I reused ndchristie's colours.

shall i drop the gem on helmet ?
shall i search for alternative on the boots ? (yet, he'll need something to help him fly, and boots seemed fine for this purpose -- just like astroboy)
shall i seek for inspiration on existing armours and turn them cybernetic ? (i thought of making look like a samurai, previously)

Mega Man X is a specific incarnation. He looks like this:

Specific (glaring) similarities:
The gem-like forehead thing, the swooping trim on the helmet, the barrel-like forearms, the white gloves, the shins and feet.
I can't help but think you were inspired by Mega Man X, if only subconsciously.

As far as pixelling goes, the whole thing it very noisy, and I'm not sure why.... Hard to give detailed critique with all the noise.

Sounds plausible since it's the only MM game i've ever played. I guess all that "redo of MM classic" in the mockup frenzy did bury them but i couldn't help inspiring from what i've played with :P I'll work forward on more "personal" look. Probably getting the "lightweight" nature of biokid one step beyond.

hmm ... i see. I intended to mimmic metal shading, but apparently i couldn't get it right ... maybe i'm missing intermediate shades to feel more comfortable ...
