Wierd black guy with an orange beard WIP

I just started this yesterday.  I kind of got the beard looking how I want it to, but it looks kind of off.  I also started the hat and got stuck.

Edit:  began work on the face and gave the beard some more contrast.

Hey this guy goes to show you that when it comes to Santaclause and him hiring elves... his company does not endorse racial profiling! lol

Other than that, I cant give you any critique on it other than his cheeks seem kinda pointy and funny to me.

Edit: smoothed out the highlighted areas a bit.

I don't think that smoothing was necessary with the low contrast you have right now.
What are the grey things? A moustache?

Yes, they are a moustache.  I purposely gave the different parts of his hair different colors to make it slightly random/confusing.

The moustache appears to start below the mouth, by the way.

I have the mouth being masked by the beard.  o.O  There isn't even a mouth on there.

Here's an edit of mine, your piece lacks contrast and some color reduction can be done, like Shred said, mustache is too low(didn't change this on my edit but yeah it needs to be more next to the nose).

That is a good edit, but that wasn't quite what I was going for.  o.o
