Well, if you're doing it for NDS i'd suggest more colours put to use.

And, to see if the walking animation looks ok, i'd add a line underneath that has gaps in different places in each frame. This way, you can see if it looks like he's moving.

Did this quickly, just to show you what i meant.

I'm also a newb in animation  :D

Anyway, With the jumping, it's quite fluent, but if it was me.. i'd add a bit of spice to the Jump..

Maybe, make his head get bigger, width way like it's being squashed.. and i'm not that fond on the Eyes changing, kind of breaks the flow.

More colors can be used, but that doesn't make it necessary.  It really depends on the styles on the rest of the sprites and backgrounds you're going for.

Yes it's a good idea, i'll try that :).

I'll post a screenshot of the sprite with the background when it's done ( i have a little hard time with the background ^^).
I forgot to say but English is not my native language (i'm French) so tell me if what i say don't make sense.

You've got a cute style going on here, I like it.  :)

The tiles are kinda pillow shaded though, and the grass ends a little abruptly. Keep going, I want to see a full mock up!

Umm.. If you have the balls to do it, I'd suggest that you completely redraw each to convey motion and shape effectively. Like, your octoblob is totally blob-like, so why not stretch and squash it a bit when it jumps? I mean, it's basically just a colored blob with an outline and a highlight, so please try to make the animation a bit more rubberbally!

Thanks :), yeah i'll try to remake all the animations ( i need to practice they are my firsts animations ).
I tried to edit the tiles a little but it's still not good, i need to find a way to color it in order to make it match with the style of the character :

It's getting there.  :)

Go for some extra detail in the grass and dirt tiles, as right now it just looks a little simple and unfinished. You've got several banding issues too on the clouds, bushes and tree.
You could probably get rid of the second brightest green on the foliage without any real loss.

I guess as it's a screenshot then we can expect some sort of demo soon?  ;)

To play you need an Nintendo DS emulator like DeSmuME or No$GBA, the demo is in french but there not a lot of text so don't worry  ;D.
