[WIP] Your opinion...

Hi All!...

  I registered yesterday... and i have seen your work... some are very impressive... And i want to know your opinion about my work. I made graphics for games and i write games too... My first was Karnak's Temple, who is actually at Alawar... Second a remake of Sir Fred. That project was the first i was proud more or less..  ... you can see graphics here: http://cezgs.computeremuzone.com/ficha.php?id=8... Now i'm doing only graphics for the remake of "capitan sevilla", and old game from Dinamic called also "Captain S"...

  Well... i want to know your opinion... i put here some graphics from "The name of the rose" or Freddy Hardest...

Looks very nice!  I particularly like the last one except the hero's body really disappears against the background tiles, maybe play around with a rim light or something to help him stand out?

I'd put a strong overhead light on the guy - that way he'll match the ground tiles which have a strong overhead light source AND he'll stand out better.

Darken the background so that it doesn't blend with the foreground. Also, while editing(I tried, but I didn't accomplish anything worth posting), I noticed that you use a lot of colors for your sprite that are in the background... that's the major problem. How do you expect your sprite to stand out from the background when it actually uses most of the same colors?

Perhaps change his shirt to blue, or camo(green and brown, with some light brown), or anything not brown.

edit: this is concerning the last one everyone is talking about.

... OK!... i will change the hero to see what you are talking about!... thanks for your reply... when i choose the color, i would want to give some realistic appearance... but it's true... that way the character don't stand out from the background...

i will put the new graphics as soon as i change that...

 ... that graphics wants to seem like old day manga like Dr. Slump... and, well... hehehe... it's a joke... some fun... nothing else...

That graphics is more WIP than the others... but really i would like to do some absurd characters...

Your volumes are great and your style is pretty. However you do not do enough 'polish' for your pixels I think, and your color ramps are too straight and full saturation. Of course the main sprite is lost on that background because all the rocks and stuff are full saturation. It's not the main sprite that needs to change, it's the color palette of the background. Here's an edit of a section of your rocks with more 'finish' to it and a naturalistic palette.
