snow cliff tiles

I know these probably don't tile seamlessly (I'm working on it), but I wanted to get some critique from you guys here.  I just recently started attempting pixel art (within the past couple of weeks or so), so I don't expect it to be considered wonderful. :-p



It needs some work, but I think I'm doing okay for a newbie?

Snow should be brighter I think. You know, in clear weather it's bright enough to cause eye damage (Snowblindness).

well, I was trying not to make it completely white... but I guess it could be a little bit brighter.  I was just always told not to use pure black or pure white on anything, since it tends to make it look like there's a hole in the image.

I disagree with Sherm. The off-white is fine, methinks. Maybe add a bluish tint to the shadows on the snow, though? Seems highly colorless and dull as a whole.

this looks more like white grass to me - snow clumps!  when it falls it's in nice, round forms, and then as it melts and refreezes it starts to look more like piles of stones but still - less stringy!  more clumpy!

I think the cliffs themselves should have a little more contrast. Right now they're a bit washed out.

Some subtle blue in the shadows on the snow could help bring out its snowiness.

I would add some ice; unless it's the first snowfall of the year there is usually ice on these kinds of rocky structures because the snow melts/refreezes, and it often creates very pretty forms.

Yeah, that's kind of what I was trying to go for in certain places... not sure how to go about it just yet.
