Oops! Apologies, ZoSo, for the implication. I'm not one of the most of us, so.

A link to the old thread would at least have helped on the part of led zeppelin dude.

As far as critique goes I suggest (not for the girl portrait, everything else though) to not use dithering to create shapes so much, but to use opaque colors first and dithering for extra smoothness, shaping or textural detail. Right now the movie stills look like grainy photo reductions.

Oh sorry about the non-reference part.

here is both the reference and WIP for the Thing part.
Reference : http://img409.imageshack.us/img409/9980/thethingrealxr1.png
WIP : http://img443.imageshack.us/img443/9228/thethinganimationku5.gif

And yeah thanks for the replies.

And Helm, im not sure what you meant with the "at least have helped on the part of led zeppelin dude." :P. But yeah.
I was really trying to keep the color count as small as possible.. And i tried making the backround not blend into the characters.. but yeah, i should have used more colors i guess.. I can honestly say the backround was a tiny bit rushed compared to the characters.

There i edited the colors a bit :).. To make it look my interesting.
