Self Portrait

on: November 29, 2005, 11:49:34 am

Ive only really worked on the head.. so dont bother with them.. my face looks kinda fucked up. it used to look a lot worse but faceless helped me fix it up with a few simple solutions... anyways.. it still doesnt look quite right.. i picked a hard perspective..
so if someone can sketch a head in the same position as mine, it would help heaps

and here's a photo of me to compare...:

(Im the far left)
and also, can anyone tell me if my self portrait looks like me? I cant tell  :-\..

edit-
oh, and the colours, if anyone thinks my colours could be better, feel free to recolour and adjust them as you see fit

edit- finished!!

I'm no expert on facial structure, but you may want to try thinning the eyes, bringing the cap down a pixel or two and getting rid of that straightline from the face to the edge of the cap

right now the face is sort of baloon-y and your facial structure is more defined.
oh, and the eyes just look big to me >_>

The proportions on the legs look all wrong from my perspective, but maybe someone with more knowledge can comment on 'em
other than that: the torso, arm, and what you have done so far is rather nice.

I think Ive finished the face

yeah I havent been able to make my mind up on the legs.. I cant tell whats wrong with them.. I think theyre too short.. or that Ive made my left leg's shin too long.. i think if I drop the knee on that leg...

anyways, Ive been worrying about the colours, do you think I made good choices?

edit-
I cant wait to do the hands... :-X

the noise is pointing up to much. and his right eye should be a little ofuscated, and also you should see very little of the face on his right side (maybe no face at all)

the rest is cool!!!

Image size doesn't matter! It's what you do with your pixels that counts!

I know his arms and leg are blocking it for the most part, but it looks like he has no shape in his chest and belly areas. He isn't sitting far enough forward for his shirt to hang down flat, so it makes his torso look concave to me. Doing something to make his chest stick out more would help a lot. Unless your torso is flat on all sides like that in real life, in which case I'm sorry.

Edit: I just noticed that the position of his right leg looks very awkward. It may just be the area where his right leg and shirt meet. The shirt sitting on top of the right leg like that doesn't look right. If it was hanging down on the inside of the leg, but you could still see the shirt further back on the leg on top of it, that might be better. The way his right leg is in relation to the shirt, it seems like his torso doesn't go as far to his right on his body as the base of his legs do.  The base of the leg (where it would meet his waist) seems a bit too elevated to me as well, especially with the angle it is at compared to his other leg. It looks like he was born deformed with one leg growing out of his hip.
