http://www.xosize.com.au/images/content/anteriorMuscle.jpg this is good, just slap a head count on the side of it. Pluse you'll learn where the muscles are.

I dunno about the rest of you guys, but I just found that to be really useful and saved it myself on my reference folder. Thanks Fizz.

Now onto the topic:
If you're striving for a more realistic look then yes, you should elongate the body to make him ~7 heads tall. If you don't mind your guy looking somewhat 'chibi' then you can just leave it as is.
What is looking off in your drawings for me is that the knee is too low in the leg, and both his thighs and ankles are way too thick. Also, his chest and abs, although really defined by the outline, have no depth at all. from the 6pack outline you gave him, I assume you want your guy to look fit. If that's the case you should protrude the chest forward from his torso to give it shape, and you should also make his belly go in a bit at the height of his bellybutton. This will help define his torso more. Also, from the way you drew his speedo, it looks like there is no space between his legs at all. If you feel you need an edit for reference, say the word and I'll give it a shot.

There just aren't many good charts of this nature online, I've found. So I edited the above link with some useful things.

Yea sure, why not.... I made the head smaller sometime before, but the person didnt liked it, so I guess this style is ok... well maybe just a little diference wont hurt.

And thanks for the ref. they are great.

Ok edit time:
<--- Yours Mine --->

So Basically I gave the guy more definition in his legs and torso, and also even tough you said it wasn't needed, i tried adjusting his proportions just a bit. Elongated the torso and made the head smaller.

female characters are 6.5 to 7 heads tall.  they can be exaggerated up to 12 heads tall, but not to add a sense of raw power so much as to promote a long legged sex appeal, grace, and a commanding presence.

What an idiot.

I thought the most idiotic part was right on the first paragraph when he basically said that people should conform to stereotypes and not try to break any molds. I half expected him to continue by saying that if your hero is a woman, her boobs need to be twice the size of her head... "You're not going to see heroine without huge tits. Not gonna happen."

15 head tall giant
what artist is that? truly terrible
I know Rob Liefeld is a popular target but look at the feet
it's package is bigger than it's head
it might be a one shot deal

Hmm… I feel that there is something wrong whit this comic’s style drawing but could someone tell me what’s sooo wrong on it? It doesn’t appear to be so horrible, but this is probably because I never was on comic’s style of drawing…. So a little tip? This is my thread after all!

Now to my little avatar… I modified my old one after learning from Caves edit… I could just watch and copy but I wouldn’t learn from that, so I just made mine following the idea, then I compared them.

Hes head is still a little too big... its around 6 head tall  ;D

And a complete ratation...
