Not so long ago i've wanted to rise my pixelart skill a bit. Sooo, I took one of the Niklas Jansson characters

as a base and created a character. Here it is:

And here is small WIP from his creation if someone interested:

At the moment I need help with his folds
Don't know why, but everytime i try to paint folds they don't look properly

I'm used to it to I can tell you it doesnt mean people hate you or hate your pixels. It just mean they dont know what to say.

All I can personnaly say about the fold problem is that your very first lineart was much better than the final dress you obtained. The more you progressed, the more you shaped it like a cylinder.
Just get back to your very first (or second) lineart dress design, you had some sketched folds there =)

mmm this is actualy preety cool how you redrew it to pixels from a paper sketch, im gonna try it!

Agry about more contrast shadows on his head fnd radiosity on orb - cool 
Also wana add some shine from orb so it will affect his armor

can you give a brief description/sketch of what is underneath the folds?  that is after all what will define them.
