Glass Warrior [WIP]

on: October 24, 2007, 03:56:19 am
1)

2)

I plan on changing the colors to a palette from the reference pic (see below) and of course finishing the rest of the armor. Maaaybe make a background/scene of a battle, but probably not. We'll see.  :hehe:

Posting it now because now would be the time to change anatomy and such before I do the rest of the armor.

-Reference pic-

PS: Yeah, it's from Morrowind.

WIP 3

Must:
- Finish line art
- Get silver-ish palette
- Replace black lines and white with silver-ish palette
- Add finishing touches
- See if I can animate it

Edit: I just noticed that his right armlet needs to be longer up the arm a bit (in consideration with the arm being bent), I'll get on that in a bit.

The right leg looks knacked, the foot angle is off. I'd say it looks better than the original though.  :blind:
it might be a one shot deal

Added a bit more details and messed around with the legs. They look okay now?

PS: Hey MrMister, I recognize you from Charas. :D

some classic amateur anatomy errors here!  Arms too long + legs too short.  By a lot.  This is a very very natural tendency when you are just starting out, and mastering it (or at least getting a hang of it) will instantly elevate your art.  Good luck!

I think I got the outstretched arm right, but yeah you're right otherwise.
I should be able to lengthen the legs at the knees, thighs, and possibly shins a bit. It might also be possible to move the spear up and shorten both sections of the arm holding it.

Thanks for pointing this out before I got any further.  :'(

I think another common mistake that's occurring is trying to cram too much detail into a small area. You may have to make a few detail sacrifices here and there for readability's sake.
