[WIP] Need help, character lineart

This is my first post and my first real attempt at pixel-art. It's gonna be a main character for a platforming game I'm conceptualizing. I know there's not much to critique, but if you can tell me how to improve, I'd greatly appreciate it.  ;D




EDIT: Fixed the head, face coming ASAP. Thanks for the help, guys.

Head's too round at this point. Head over to http://www.spriteart.com/tutorials/02_rpg_hero.html and check out the guides there, they should be a good guide for this kind of thing.

This really isn't pixel art, it's just lineart, there's no color or anything, what are we supposed to critique on? He doesn't even have a face, okay, well here's my attempt at critiquing it:
His stance is odd, especially when zoomed in, the overall person could be bigger, according to how his face is, he's looking right at the person, I'll assume this is just a stance, so you should work on that.

Since it's a platformer sprite, go look at other platformers, see how their sprites are done, go check out my "The Best Game in the Universe" thread, there's some good examples, since I'm awesome and all(The current version is only good for colors though, I'm making a new one that doesn't look so odd), Takam's Twinsen threads are also good examples, because you know, Takam makes some manly platformer sprites. The near arm is too short.
The head is egg-shaped...although I suppose that could be a character trait. But if he's looking where his body's facing, his head should also not be symmetrical as it is.
Not much to say. Give it a face.
