this is my favourite so far, or junkboy's original.

I strongly agree, either of these two. They're very clean, and have enough space to portray more subtle emotions, as well as contain bigger animations.
(The animation on monsoon's here is virtually undetectable at 1x zoom though.)

No but really, we should have a giant smiley. Just one.

I like the block idea. Tried something with a simple look and a bit of AA. No transparency, but that shouldn't be much of a problem here. There are only the single corner pixels that could be, and a darker grey than the forum posts backgrounds works just as well, I think.



Oh, and they're 16x16 with about 6 colors each.

Thanks for the kind words B.O.B., InvaderLupus, Helm.  I used MS Paint colors again...sssshhhhh....

And, I don't know, I kind of like Dusty's mixed resolution thing.  His smiley is very cute.

I like Perciv@l's, but I think the larger versions work better, with outlines.  Something seems very evil about all of them, though, like they have dead eyes.
