Ok I decide to give a go at this fad avatar thingie , don't know the name.. I couldn't find any thread that set the "rules" of this, but anyway I thought it would be a good exercise...
Never pixelled any face before, and I'm usually pretty bad at faces 

not happy with it yet.. I will make the left side much darker I think.. I still don't really know what I'm aiming for about the style so everything may change    (especially the BG lol)

these look pretty sweet to me!  great improvements on the space scene, its pretty adorable (though his right ear is pretty enormous compared to his left!), and the fadatar is coming along very nicely.

thx Adam  yeah you're right about the ear, I didn't notice it before.. actually its just a matter of 2-3 pixels.. not that big difference

melikey, looks all complementary so far.. mostly around blues and oranges; the contrast really brings out the foreground

You did a fantastic job of creating a mood.  I'm guesssing those pink clouds aren't done yet.

ok done with my av.. 
I'm finally happy with it.. looking at it, I guess I didn't respect the original restrictions though... (but I couldn't find them anywhere )
I didn't use any photo, and just used a mirror a couple of times..  that was a good exercise. 

How do you think?

Right eye is way to dark.. Looks kinda weird, unless you want it to look wierd.

Otherwise its good .

Zoso, thx , you are right about the eye, originally , I wanted to have a different half so it was on purpose.. but I don't think it fits anymore.. I corrected it on the x2 version on the left   thx again
(it seems you have slightly more hair than me.. )

Omenith,  on my screen it's not that blue though  more purple, pink and beige.. the only blue is on the FG..

Sharm, no they are not done yet, but it's good you can already tell they are clouds!
