Mutant Animation, Idle animation edited.

on: February 04, 2007, 04:56:19 pm
Well, I'm planning on making a game (Not the first time..I know, I know. Can never bring up the determination to finish games...)
And there are mutants and shot-guns in it :D
Here's the first mutant:
NEWEST: Death: Blobs:
I was going for a Metal Slugish/Pirate Baby Cabana Battle Street Fight charm in it, I think I did pretty well.
Was loads of fun to work on. Didn't spend too much time on details, and I'm not planning to.
Not sure 'bout the colours. Feel free to edit or make suggestions.

This is a sweet animation, but I think it needs some more polish. First of all I think you should tone down or clean up some of that sub-pixel movement, unless you're going for a mutant made out of jelly, that is.  ;)
Other then that, some more animation and secondary-motions all around. I made a quick edit to illustrate some stuff.

Just changed the colors a bit, slided some stuff around, added eyes and drool (that's a must if you're going for something like Paul Robertson), etc.
I think that a circular idle-motion would be more interesting and menacing too look at, then just a "back and forth" motion.

There's a lot more that could be done with this. Liquid squishing around inside those things on his back, his belly inflating and deflating?

I'd love to see you push this further!

Very sweet edit Junkboy. And yes, he is made out of a jelly-ish substance. The things on his back are actually faced down blobs which can fall off and attack you. I love the circle animation, and the drool. I will make an edit. And to keep you guys entertained, here's a GORE death animation:

Hehe, that looks really good, specially the dying animation. I only didn't understand his right arm, if it's not just a random deformation.

Now THAT's cool! Although I think it would look better if the blob coming out simply formed and melted afterwards... The way it is now looks like it's giving birth to infinite killer blobs.
