It's been a while...

I think it's been about two years since I did any pixel art. To get back in the groove I'm working on improving one of my favorite old pieces. It's still a WIP so far.

well overall I think it just looks too flat, whether it was the type of style you were aiming for I'd love to see this with more shape.. I did a quick edit.. Ive messed around with the pallete slightly and added 1 more shade + another to AA the white outline, but its really making the most of your palette.



adding Lighter shades tend to raise parts and darker pushes it away especially with a black and white palette like this, its much easier to just concentrate on contrast as theres no Hue/saturation changes.

The structure of this is pretty solid, its a lovely style to work with, but don't restrict yourself with anything too blocky unless its on purpose.. not really sure about the arms, they seem to finish too high imo and whether there are hands is questionable from 100%

looking great, a big improvement imo.

for the clothing just look and your own and just mimic what you see, observation is always the key.

Shirt's done. I'll probably have the pants done later tonight.


Update: Done with the pants. I think the highlights on the pants might not be bright enough, but the only other colors that work are too bright. I'm trying to use as few colors as possible, but I might have to add some more.

I think the 'flat' version is really nice as well. The shaded version does look better in a way, but I would still prefer the flat, uncolored version
