I don't know what it is I'm looking at.  :-\

Looks kind of like a potato wearing a hat.
Doesn't really look much like a man.

Yes, but it's always nicer when it looks like what you're trying to make.
Which in this case I can't make out what this is.

What's with that attitude?
The dude's giving you comment and you completely ignore it. Getting comment is the whole point of posting it here.
If you're not open for comment, don't post it.

Seriously, you were being really rude, Souly gave you a good comment, and you just ignored it.

I know what proper c+c is, I have been around many spriters for a long time.
In the way saying it looks like a potato he did not specify what to change.
Now....I can take c+c and freak out.  I am repling to his comment in a way that my art was strange.
Not one person gave me though any fixing ideas.

As for the last post, the cloud thing is my sig, A C formed into a D.
In fact tthat is a hat, A green baseball one in fact.

:/ C D \:

my fixing / suggestion idea
would be to start again
with an actual idea of what to draw, instead of just a random shape

Thanks, I really hated how this one turned out.
I will make a fix with a lot of changes.

My own sugestions are:

To maybe remove the hat or make it less unevenly placed.
Fix the color choice.
Add a mouth or a nose of some sort.
Or scrap the design and make his face a skeleton and some skin left.

Sorry for not editing but I want to explain the new design.

It is a skull, a cartoon kind of one.
He has one eyeball with broken glasses on.
The other hole is empty.

Hi TFGD.
The skull isn't round, so its not really a SKULL. Its more of a mask. While your palette is nice, I say add another shade of the blue, giving a new darker shade. Broken glasses would have a frame across the middle and the glass would still pick up light and shine.
Also, if you're going to add a background, get rid of the anti-aliasing on the outside.
Last, don't use a tutorial for a background. In your own style, create a backround, possibly a graveyard, or having it on a fire place mantle of an abandoned house. Maybe with a ghost in the background.

That looks like Duskull.

It is a mask I guess.
I will add another blue shade and I will not use a tutorial for the background, I usually do it all myself.

Alright so when I saw the skull I tried doing an edit.
Then you decided that since it looked more like a mask then a real skull, that'd you just stick with the mask.

So that makes my edit worthless.
Oh well, was fun to do. :B

Probably a few things wrong with it.

Good luck on the mask.

I think drawing a skull, and then having someone point out it looks flat, and then changing your mind and saying its a mask is a real cop out.
Why don't you try drawing something from a reference picture. Your picture looks bad becuase it doesn't have proper shading and its
hard to know whats what - you say it has a hollow eye but does it look like that? The way its shaded it looks like an eyepatch. And
don't say "It is a mask with an eye patch i guess". You say you've been around spriters a long time but how old are you?
Modern artists are told that they must create something totally original-or risk being called "derivative".They've been indoctrinated with the concept that bad=good. The effect is always the same: Meaningless primitivism

Age should not matter, I will give you a hint, its a few days later than soup.

As for the eye shading, I am aware of the fact it is shaded wrong.  I have been spriting for 6 months but only recently returned for about 3-4 months.

With each sprite I learn.  I really hate this pixel art though.  I would rather us the pallete for another thing.

Please please please increase your canvas size a little more. Because you're using a generic background colour, it's made basically pointless and just in the way by cramming everything into it.

Age does matter a little bit to the critic, because we'll then know a bit more of what you're lacking, such as experience or such. Generally it shouldn't matter to the audience though.

If you think it's shaded wrong, fix it! And if you dislike the palette, fix it! Of course, if you really dislike what you've done, or the general concept, then there should be no harm in moving on to something new, like you did before, you can only get better.

Good luck.
