Hello and welcome!

I used to make pixel dolls too back in the day. Show us what you got, Mya. And be sure to try out the MegaMan Mockup Frenzy thingie. Lots of fun there.  ;)

Hello.

I've started recently trying to make my own spritework. I've been using tools such as a combination of Pixia and ImageReady, but apparently it doesn't make life easier for editing sprites, especially when you have to make entirely new frames without having to scan/redraw them.

That said, any advice for this fledgling spritemaker? Are there any novel and simple(r) programs out there where I can whip out a basic crude design other than MS Paint? In fact, I'm sort of confused as to the standards of sprite size (which I know seem to b dependent on the platform), but I wish someone could show me in the right direction.

Thanks for the links.

A question about GraphicsGale: Does the free version allow you to save all the frames in succession? (Since you can recompile them using ImageReady)

Yes, there's a rather powerful export feature.

So I guess the free version isn't as gimped as I thought.
