Goomba Side View

on: December 03, 2006, 01:17:10 pm
I finally got off my lazy ass and made a side view.
Crits on how to continue to make an animation and on the sprite itself.

His eyebrows are really big and his legs don't get smaller when they go down into his shoes. Nice though!

Do Goombas usually walk forward? I thought they either crab-walked or made a kind of wide waddle. Never seen one just standing directly side on like that.
But yeah, Massive eyebrows. I ditto Adrian.

Yes, they do. You can see it clearly on SM64. In Yoshi's Island they do crab walk, tough.
I'd sugest you do use a 1/2 view, so you can see part of his left eye, isntead of making him totaly facing left.

looking at this reminded me of a very competent goomba walk cycle: http://pixeljoint.com/pixelart/9521.htm

To start with you might want to simply the goomba down to basic colours for each region and work on the animation while simplified (this will save alot of time) see this post for reference: http://www.wayofthepixel.net/pixelation/index.php?topic=2596.0
