I rarely make anything worth posting, so take this in.

on: November 28, 2006, 03:50:03 am

A whole lotta colors, and a whole lotta of time went into this.

What do you think?
And I am finally seeing that you were the one worth eating.

hah, whole lot of 18 colors. love the torso, but the arms and legs dont do it for me. call me old fasion, but i like my mechs/robotic beings with long arms and long long long legs. the technical skill of the arm and legs itself is fine though.

Ooh, I like. The whole thing looks quite bright though... Not sure if you can fix that though, it's probably just how you placed the colors.

I like it except for the two cracks. I think they look wrong for some reason.
Modern artists are told that they must create something totally original-or risk being called "derivative".They've been indoctrinated with the concept that bad=good. The effect is always the same: Meaningless primitivism

Ryumaru: That's what I always invision for my robots, long arms and long legs. I felt like breaking out of the expected, and going in a different direction. And yeah 18 colors isn't that much is it.

Ceddo: It is kind of bright, I think it needs a little more contrast. I'll probably go back and change that.

Sharprm: I don't understand what makes them look wrong. Help me?

Heya,

Its right arm looks like itīs its left arm drawn from behind since It isnīt bending like on a humanoid but instead like it would do an a cat or a dog, maybe this is in the design though? Also, from which way are the light coming from? It looks like different parts are lighted in different ways, only slightly though.

A very nice piece, especially like the head :]

Cheers,

Lelle

looks awesome.  the arms look too feeble though.  give him big gun-arms and it will be even better.

I agree with what Leel said, it looks like it's bending towards us instead of away like it logically should (well, I suppose it doesn't need to bend away, it just looks weird, personal preference, if you will).
I'd drop the cracks, because they look more like just a cluttered mistake to me, and the legs look weird, just because they bulge out so much. Other than that I don't see anything, it's really well done, I'd say.
I.....am......me............

nice, me likes..
It needs some little people fixing him up.. or something.
Yeah the hips look really bulged out..
the colors work well i think, and the face detail is funny, kinda makes me imagine a person inside it.

Lelle: The light source is basically, from the front.

Feron: If everybody wants bigger arms, i guess i have to deliver.

CrematedPumpkin: I  noticed that too, this will be fixed with the bigger arms.

Kon: You're the second person to mention the person inside of it idea, kind of makes me wish I was good at animation.

Thanks for the comments guys, i'll try to fix it up when I have some time.
And I am finally seeing that you were the one worth eating.

My only crit is that the lighting is VERY symmetrical - i know this is a big timesaver on large pieces like this, and your front light is well rendered, but I think your contrast and volumes would be a lot better if the lighting was farther off center.  I really like how the metal is rendered, noted for study and reference :)

I like the hips and head alot. Like AHW said, the face made me think of a person inside. (which is awesome.)
Didn't read all the comments, so pardon me if I repeat someone else, but it looks to me as though the arm comes toward the viewer from the shoulder, then bends away as it gets to the elbow, which I think is really strange.
Personally, I don't see a problem with the size of the arm, but the fact that there's only one kinda bugs me.
The hilight at the edges of the torso's light midsection look wierd.
Aside from that, this is probably one of my favorite things from you.
