I think the thing that makes the "real" face stand out is.. well, two things. First of all, the lighting, which doesn't seem to match with the rest of the picture. Second, the fact that it's just a head sticking out from nowhere. If whoever it is is supposed to be standing there, then those tents must be really big and elongated, seeing as the clown looks to be two or three heads taller than the "real" person. It also bugs me a little that the wooden texture has such extreme contrast, but no real detail. It looks almost as if the shapes were carved out by hand, really deep. Doesn't look too natural. Some AA on the wood would also be nice, since the faces are all soft and smoothed out and dithery, and the wood is harsh and looks unfinished in comparison.
It'd also be nice to have some sort of trick to add to the perception of depth to the buildings further away, like making them progressively darker or less saturated.
