Gazing upon the endless desert of nimbostratus clouds graced by a golden, perhaps even improbable sight of sunrise atop the world, you cannot help but feel this place is quite mystical - almost as if it depicted Heaven itself, which has so far been but a tale told by an old book. From one of the two precipices that breach the skies and are still reaching for the stars above resting so far away from you and your home on the ground, only one thing can be found proudly towering over the clouds: an unusual rock formation in the distance, standing tall and strong like a large mountain.

'This is where my home begins', speaks the griffon who has taken you here. 'It awaits a hero. That hero just might be you.'

The griffon briefly looks at the mountain before glancing back at you, at first appearing quite stoic but then openly displaying deep concern and sadness; a hint of how forlorn and full of grief this otherwise mighty and dangerous beast is.

'For generations, griffons have been seeking a soul - any soul at all - that would demonstrate strength, wits, and bravery needed to save them from their foe and their terrible curse. A griffon without wings may still survive... but alas, it deprives him of many things he needs and makes his life much harder than it previously was. If only there were someone who is strong, smart, and bold enough to aid us, he or she would defeat our enemy and free us from being slaves to the earth and not being able to take to the beautiful open skies that the griffons rightfully rule. And with your abilities, I feel you must be that someone. If you help us, we would be eternally grateful...

From here, it takes trusting the clouds not to let you fall through and to allow you to safely reach the world of griffons, putting your bravery to the test. It was something I have discovered when I set out to look for someone like you, initially intimidated by the possibility of plummeting to my doom as I could not rely on my wings to keep me in the air. But as long as one remains valiant throughout, even the most grounded of creatures are able to cross the greatest abyss anyone could encounter.'

Hey, so... I hope you like the piece! I also thought to write the above thing to go with it, as I'm not well versed enough to construct more complex/numerous scenes (and I do much better at rendering creatures than I do at landscapes apparently, lol) and I felt like I needed a short story-like segment accompanying it to give more depth to it. I also wasn't entirely sure what to do with the "adventure" and "Another World-style" aspects you asked for, as I said I'm not an extremely experienced artist so I didn't want to over-complicate things to the point of having a piece I can't finish but at the same time I didn't want to do a standalone sprite or something as I felt that would be a tad too boring. Finlal, ARandomLake, Acrontoff, Maxcreed and Yinochi have sadly not sent in their gift. Arcade Hero provided a gift for junkboy, but Yuushia, supermaxy4 (thank you aamatniekss!), ME (thank you Kashou!) and Arcade Hero (thank you Veksell and lamantine!) are still without a gift! If anybody has some extra time and would like to make gifts for those four, please go ahead!
