Hi Old Skewl! This sounds like a cool gig, just wanted to show a few examples of my logos, headers, capsule art and graphic design. I have a lot of experience working with assets to create new & interesting compositions to fit any possible dimensions and my personal archives include a ton of unique textures. Apart from the dark blue grid background in the 1st image and the Steam Workshop bubble in the 3rd, all art elements seen below are my own work.
... and for something completely different, here's an animated short I produced riffing on Excitebike, this is 100% a recreation in Flash (not gameplay capture) which is a pretty alright demo of how I can start with pre-existing assets to create something distinctly new:
