[C&C] An RPG Character

on: July 03, 2016, 12:35:33 am
Hi,

In am trying to practice everyday and today I tried to make an RPG character. I had problems with shading, choosing colors to make it look more realistic/dark and the character's pose. Any criticism in these areas or any other is greatly appreciated.

Hope this helps.

I can't tell where does the light come from in your sprite. You have to set the lightsource (top and a bit of right in my edit) and shade the sprite giving it a sense of volume. Yours looked flat because of this.
I don't like the hair in my edit but I think it can give you ideas of how to shade the hair without just drawing 1px lines.
Also changed the palette a bit.

Thanks! I edited the character. I copied the light shade like in your edit because I couldn't figure out how to add it in a different way. I made other edits as you suggested like the hair part.

Nice! I like the hair :y:
No problem if the highlight is exactly the same as in the edit. The sprite is very small so you don't have a lot of ways to do it.
