Animating myself

on: April 22, 2016, 10:53:25 pm
Hello forum!
I am doing a project for college where I will be creating an animation of me giving a presentation.
I need tips on how to make "talking" look natural at a low resolution. Hopefully someone has had some experience with this! Any tips are welcome!

This is what I have so far...

Hi!
I suggest posting the image at the 1x1 resolution and not upscaling it.
A few things:
  • Low contrast overall.
  • The shirt seems to have a border, and the rest of the sprite doesn't. Not sure if you're going for shadows there, but it doesn't seem to be working.
For the animation:
  • Think of a better pose and gesture. Like him holding his hand to show something, or his hand holding a stick, anything! Right now he's too rigid.

Closing thoughts: He has too many parallel, straight lines for my taste(Like the legs and arms). If you're going for that, sure. Look up some sprites for reference.
