Alternatives to the Image Zoom

on: September 20, 2006, 01:28:46 pm
Ok, as you can see we're back in business, alive and kicking. However, you might have noticed that the built-in image zoom is not, well, built in yet. For the time being I'd like to ask you all to post a zoomed in version of your pictures along with the small one. If you do not want to upload each image twice (unfortunately, resizing with html doesn't work on this board engine), then I'd recommend either using Firefox with this Extension or Opera, which has an image-zoom by default.

  3x

so either:

post a zoomed version

get this this extension for Mozilla Firefox

get Opera

use the Windows Magnifyer ;)

Thank you

Extension installed, works like a charm, just one mouseclick. Opera does its' thing by default. This should be the official Way of Pixelopolis so people learn to not use Explorer anyway.

the image zoom isn't working in safari.  Mac users are people too!

Here, try this: http://pimpmysafari.com/bookmarklets/safari-bookmarklets
Scroll down to 'Images'

I can't test it though

Not really sure if it works on other browsers, but at least in firefox if you hold right click + scroll the mouse wheel, you can zoom up/down your pictures, though at times the pixels look weird if not zooming enough.
Either way, I've been using the imagezoom extension for a while and works nicely.
So yeah download it!
