Need help with palette

This is going to appear on the background of a big, but mostly empty piece. I need help with making the trees pop up more and I would appreciate any suggestions on how to create a better sea effect.

Use Deeper and more harsh shading to bring them out

First, the perspective on the building looks off. 
As far as colors and sea effects, look at some references..they're your best guide.

I found it needed another dark shade.  The only one you had was the dark red on the roof which seemed too over saturated.
Also, I'm not a big fan of the stylized dithering on the grass.
