The "stomper" obstacle. (A giant tree log that stomps) is of the same material as the windmill, but you can touch it sides because it doesn't have spikes. So if the windmill didn't have spikes you would think that you should be pushed away, instead of being destroyed.

I think Pusty was asking about why the spikes are wooden, rather than the more common metal or stone, not why there are spikes in the first place.

Oh sorry! I read something else :-X

I decided to make them wood because it looked nice! I didn't want to much color in the rotating part because it gets really busy and I just wanted to make a readable dangerous looking shape :)

Here's a small gameplay detail I noticed in this gif



The two logs that retract back should twitch a bit right before extending. That would give a bit of anticipation as well as give a visual cue to the player that they're about to extend. By the way, the coins when they bounce around and rotate look excellent.

The Stomper(The logs) is one of the few instant lethal obstacles in the game, we made these to make it a little harder, if we make it retract it would be to easy to avoid :) The player just has to anticipate when it STOMPS

Hey people,

We're working very hard to get this game done for the release!





We changed the bee, it now chases you down to a certain point. Also added rain and wind effects and sharp rocky tiles that hurt you on touch.

Hi guys, We've released a new trailer with all the new content that has been created since this post! We've worked very hard to come this way and it has been a tough development, we've learned A LOT from making this game and we hope you'll like it when it releases in January :)
