Draco Swordman vers.4

on: September 13, 2006, 08:43:15 am
Hey guys, building a game and I'm trying to make this sprite absolutlely perfect before I start animating him.
I he's he's pretty cool atm, but I'm always willing to listen to critques and design ideas...
I would like make me him look just a tad 'cooler' if you know what I mean:

Make his legs farther appart and more muscular. The arms could use a dose of anatomy too.

Nothing cooler than a manly pose!

I could try, It's hard adding some very detailed anatomy with this resolution without making his arms look just plain fat.

This pose: it's supposed to be an idle pose.

At first I was like "Damn, that's an impressive mullet!", then I noticed it was his cape. Anyway, I'd suggest giving him more realistic proportions, like a smaller head, longer limbs, etc. I also think that some color variations would help the character a lot.

Well I can't really make his limbs long without changing his resolution...I guess I could redraw him from scratch using this as a base

don't underestimate yourself people have been able to define muscles in "resolutions" much smaller then this. id give it a try and ask for help (or an edit) if you find it too difficult.

Yeah...hmmm...guess I'll try again later. Comparing him to other sprites like castlevania, he is a bit midgety imo.... :-\

Sure you can. Just make his head smaller and you'll have more room to make him taller.

Alright, I'm going to re-do it, should be easy considering I have this as reference, I'll be able to create his body parts to correct scale, thanks for the help

Im not a pixel expert, but would tell ya the colors are too equal. I mean, you could use a darker red and a lighter red, making more shades... Looks like flat, if u know what i mean. Like i sayd, im not a pro, if someone disagree just correct me and ill learn =)
Sorry for any english problems, im brazilian and im not an english expert hehe =) have Fun !
