Tiny Hands

I'm trying to make a 6-color (including background) 48x48 Wario sprite to match one I made for pixel dailies yesterday. However, I can't figure out any way to draw the hands on Wario; it just seems impossible to fit in the right shapes on such a tiny area. Here's where I'm at -

Looks really good. Saw the first guy in the daily thread and I was very impressed.

My thoughts on the hands:


Obviously you'll need to throw in some of the darker colour to get more definition if you want it, but the general shapes I made were the main idea.
They're pretty big hands, so I'm not sure how you're struggling with Wario, but those tiny hands on the left you nail easily.

oh wow, thanks for the edit! That helps a lot. I think Waluigi's hands were easier for me because it's harder to make mistakes (less total possibilities that work).

I'm at this version, that I'm kind of pleased with - -

I wanna "crisp up" some of the details but I'm scared of pushing the pixels around there for now.

also, who would fit in the same series? Mario and Luigi are kinda boring to draw, and I haven't played enough of the Wario games to know those characters.

Yup that works perfectly. 

If I may though, perhaps a slightly different dark yellow for the hat and such:


You can then try to use the new colour on the torso more to get rid of that large, open, single coloured region?
Up to you though, maybe just move on because they look good.
