There are two birds, and the one on the branch is the mom, and the flying one is her boy. The mom is looking at her boy's first flight.

I think you could convey the complex emotion of joy mixed with uncertainty and loss as the mother bird watches her baby fly away for the first time if you shortened her legs by a pixel each and turned did away with the black outlines.
