Beginner, Character Sprite [C&C Please!]

Heyo,

So I've been pushing pixels in one way or another for a few years, but I figured it'd be good to buckle down and try to actually learn the trade.



This is basically a trace. Although it's a WIP, most of the major stuff is done and I'm wondering if there's anything glaringly wrong here. I'm also having a really hard time with the fur around her neck, and I'm wondering if the colors are alright.

This looks like it's headed in the right direction. A couple of problems with the colors though. The skin tone and the color for the puffy stuff around her neck are too similar. It's hard to read. Also the puffy stuff looks pillow shaded, making it even harder to read. There should be some kind of smoothing out of the pixels around her eyes because it gives a really jagged look. And another thing is the colors for her hair are just a lighter / darker version of the same bland grey / blue. Try to shift around in hue a bit.
