Grass Tile (WIP)

Hello :D , iam working on this new grass tile :D for a modern game anywho heres what iv got so far



heres my reference which obvs i didnt use correctly xx

Looks okay for this style of grass, though for top-down I far prefer the implied style, whereby large blocks of color are used with more detailed clumps and edges to imply the texture. Have you considered this style?

the here often seen grass tile don't makes sense to show off:

-without a tiled mockup where you can at least see 3x3 of the tile (all gradients) - bigger is better
-plus a character sprite on top of it
-plus object sprites on top of it
-best would be a mockup in native game resoluiton

once you have those things together it's possible to give valid feedback:
- about the overall look,
- the proportions of char/tilesize/objectsize
- if all colors/contrast styles work visually well together

Think this is a fairly common problem - working on individual assets in isolation, as if they're totally separate things.  Anyway, Cyangmou pretty much gave every suggestion about that, so I don't have anything useful to add, but yes - full mockup.  Would similarly only use references with context for this sort of thing.
