I'm beginning to think that I can't really keep up with this thread's guidelines.
I do 'turn out lots of different ideas and drawings over time' -- and typically finish most stuff same day
[for some value of 'finish' -- "shows what I wanted to show and is defined enough that it's easy to compose with other stuff.").
But posting same day is unlikely for anything I need to scan (ie. most things).
Anyway, I'll just quote the OP:
This thread is for posting whatever you worked on today.
It doesn't have to be finished.
It doesn't have to be good.
Any size.
Any medium.
Any style.
Any colors.
Just take some time and draw/create something!
Then show it to us.
See how many days you can post in a row without missing a day.
The idea is to turn out lots of different ideas and drawings over time.
Or if you really want, you can post the same thing again if you do more work on it the next day.
Crits and thoughts are also welcome.
But try hard to always post an image of your own along with text.
GO!
Emphasis mine ("along with text"). I think the consistency of text being posted with images is.. spotty.
Here's some of my stuff from the last 9 days
I like gel pen but it has no subtlety.
Profiles are a bit of a weak point. Mind you, I tend to think they look crappy even when executed well; that probably doesn't encourage me to get better at them.
Typography now:
These two were just random illustrations of titles I happened to be reading.
(this one done over two days, unlike the others)
Even a huge permanent marker (5mm thick at stem of "brush" area) has more subtlety than gel pen..
Middle -> right stroke should probably get wider gradually on W.. wasn't sure how to solve that at the time.
Sitting in hospital waiting gave me the time to make this reminder into practice.
Variants on gothic lettering (queuing up music to transfer to phone). As noted, the smallest lettering there is about 1x1.5mm per character cell -- this seems to be as small as I can push it with a "felt-tip" style biro.
A particularly stylish specimen
Misc. with decent tones.
Still struggling a bit to get a reliable 'good size' of the thumbs here.
