Micro banner-generic pose
on:
July 20, 2006, 09:28:13 am
The pose is generic I know. Look to the skies, spread out your arms.
Basically I wanted a sorta .takam shading style, but I didn't exactly get the look I wanted. But I like this alot. Also went for a tremulant style outline. Also here I did not achieve it IMO. But I like this a lot.
Still needs some finishing, and the 2 colour schemes are there for fun.
C+C appreciated.

Yeah, i like this... Few things. I think the head needs some more detail and there is something with his abs that sort of bugs me, i think it's that you have used a light source from above... I also think that his pecks could be fore defined. Nice work

Abs really do make troubles for me. On the pecs, I guess I could do some work. Also, do you have a preference among them?
Ill wait for more replies before changing this. I would also like to see if peole think that their is a resemblance between the styles I was trying to mimic.
Sorry to ask so much,

Hmm... Ok, I have made a quick edit of how i would have done thr body... I have taken the highlights off the abs becuase from the above light source they do not get as much light as the pecks would... I have defined the face slightly and the pecks. I also fiddled with the abs...

Oh, i see. Sorry i didn't know he was a cyclops. I also expanded the whole image by 1 pixel to make the shading slightly easier. Happy to help anytime

Yeah. I should have said that.
I wanted to challenge myself with even dimensions.

You've got a double outline on him, with no AA on either one, it makes him look very blocky and chunky and is distracting. If you're gonna do the white outline, then I would AA or minimize or simply remove the dark, inside outline.

Right.
@.Takam - maybe you could say its good
I just noticed something in how your pieces were shaded. I liked it and tried it.
@AdamAtomic - Hmmm...I guess. My AAing skills are lacking at best, so it may not turn out well.
C64 pallette. Cheers to ptong for providing it. I love this colour ramp.
