Subject of Saturn Pixels

on: December 31, 2014, 03:45:13 am
Had an idea for awhile that I am working on as a personal side project. I decided I should dedicate more time to it and wished for more feedback as I develop the aesthetic too.

I think I could achieve a bit myself with Game Maker.

Overall the art will need to read well as it would be viewed in a small window.

It's inspired by Yume Nikki and Twitch Plays Pokemon.

Some initial idea's

@Pinux Ah really? That's cool! I played a lot of Cave Story a few months ago and it really influenced me! I know of Zero Blaster but I have never played it.

It loops at least now! But lots of work left.
I wonder how it would feel in a game though, haven't tested it enough yet to know.

First thing would be to clean up.
For example you have strangle jigglies in the hair on the right sprite and while viewing on my phone it looks like u missed a frame.
Also watch out for single pixel flickers such as left side of hair of left sprite.
Overall I think the animation is a touch too slow and the head bob is too short/sudden.

Decroded: Thanks for the advice on the timing Decroded, I will add a few more frames and see how that looks.

Pinux: Do you mean saving incrementally? I tend to do this now ya haha, to many times losing files, or realizing it was better before :)
