Hey hello. Just floating by here. My forte is Vexeling on a small canvas. I've kept quite the eye on this forum for a while.

I almost feel as if I've reached a peek in the techniques that I currently practice. I want to improve more though, as I feel this (my work) still isn't impressive enough, even for my liking. So I've noticed that you guys are very helpful and detailed in your critiquing and comments, which is what I love about this forum. So I was simply wondering if you guys can help me with what I can improve on, please.

I don't work on actual concepts as much as I should, but I do however experiment with color combinations and overall color composition a lot.

It's mostly just using Photoshop's Pentool and Brush.

Definitely interesting stuff.

The first thing I really notice is the color. This is definitely for screen only. That degree of saturation will depress you if you try to print it. Just a side-note.

You really do this with paths, in Photoshop? You don't even create the initial paths in Illustrator, then import? Seems like you'd really like meshing. Utilizing the gradient mesh feature. Oy. I can hardly stand working with vectors in Photoshop. Ohhhh, you're a liquifier aren't you? Liquify is incredibly powerful. I love how it maintains edge crispness. I don't use it enough. I tend to forget it's there.

Me, myself, I'd like to see less random, rainbow coloration.

Seen polaus? Example 1 - Example 2 Done entirely in Photoshop. Not really sure how . . .

But I was more thinking of this. Abstracty shape-play. But with more "controlled" color. Have you ever done any pieces with volumetric-y, monotone with sparing highlights here and there? Or maybe full spectrum colorating is a defining characteristic of your work and that's not a direction you'd consider.

The colors and shapes are fun.
Lots of motion and change.
A bunch of stuff to look at.
Would love to see more.

This would be a good thing to explore.
The clutter is very cool but could be used to direct attention to a greater purpose in the image.
Planning is always helpful.
Draw out a few tiny thumbnails and go from there.

I like the characters accompanying the clutter.
The keyboard teddy, lizard and bird crack me up and feel good as part of the image.

Yep, all done within Photoshop. Sorry, but I don't use gradients, ever. The colors are maintained through steady brushing and erasing and duplicating. Also, I do not ever use the Liquify filter as well. I do however, use the Warp tool every now and then, if I feel one of the shapes aren't smooth enough.[/quote]

Well, I'm always open to suggestions since I feel as if the technical skill isn't improving much and some of the color schemes in my pieces are carrying a bit too much heavy in color. It doesn't hurt to try, I might like it
