[WIP] Ships for an Exploration/Space Sim

Hello everyone. I draw spaceships.



I'm actually working on a project written in Java. It's rather ambitious and I can never find enough motivation to continue working on it, but I've got my course of action for the next few parts planned out, specifically a modular loadout system so I can begin arming these things as soon as possible.

These seem rather greebled. I don't really get a sense of these ships' forms, you may want to focus more on getting the depth to read with shading before you add all the glowy bits. Relevant: http://www.wayofthepixel.net/index.php?topic=14429

These seem rather greebled.
But that might be expected by many SciFi fans, so I don't see it as a problem in general.
You may have pushed it too far on the Frigate ship, though, where the sense of volume gots lost. The 2 smaller ships have well-defined slanted/rounded edges that help identifying the direction it's travelling to. Frigate loses that volume and there is no clear message received from these additional colours, either.

I've redone the frontal side pods on the third ship taking all this into account, is it any improvement in terms of depth?

greeble! I learn things on pixelation! whoo hoo!

Reg, I would definitely love to see a ship with full depth and then greebled like these. Over-all I like the amount of detail put into these ships, good work so far.
