C64 Cyclops

on: June 07, 2006, 10:01:52 pm
a pic i started about 2 months ago that has lain dormant for about 3 weeks.
really going for an interesting piece, i chose random dithering because the dither rows are much more apparent with double wide pixels
c+c welcome, although this piece isnt the highest thing on my priority list right now :P
enjoy

I really can't make sense of what I am looking at.

It's a jawless dude with a single, pupilless eye. The shaded part is the pec, and there seems to be a tentacle/spike coming from the neck/shoulder area.
I think it looks pretty sweet so far, but I think the spiked/tentacled part could/should be moved inward some more, for less of a bulge when it comes down to meet the tricep(?).

oh! I see it now. I think you should go with ordered dither that fades into random dither. Dithering needs a lot of new aproaches in widepixels.

It looks similar to your fighter spirte included in your sig in the left hand corner.

- It seems like that large, seemingly meaningless mass of flesh on his shoulder with the spike would really restrict the movement of his arm verticaly.
How long can the floor creak before it loses its voice?

sorry i didnt explain, yes he is jawless, and he will have a pupil later and that is actually a twisted horn growth( hes the first boss in a game concept i have )
it actually comes out of his trapezius, which is a muscle that goes along your upper back and supports your neck.
hmm, orderd dither fading into random sounds fun, me being a c64 noob i dont know many techniques so i just go with the flow really.
thanks for the comments peeps, i usually dont get so many posts this quick!

Underlying probable skull geometry and physiology of the body. Maybe of use.
