3-color upward breeze animation

on: July 27, 2011, 12:53:07 am
Ugh, having a lot of trouble making this look like what it is supposed to and not like whimsical magic effects.

Here is the breeze chunk as seen in-game (shown against sky-color background):

Here is a single air gust or whatever it would be called:

Right now it looks like mini-fireworks or magic flying worms moreso than it resembles an actual strong wind breeze. I really don't know how to give the animation more flow.

I've hardly animated anything myself in my entire life, but I think the main problem that's causing it to look like fireworks is that it twirls to this bubble-like thing that sort of *pops* in the end. The way it moves right now makes me think more of the fumes from a spooky cauldron, than a breeze. I think you should try making it more fluent, and less twirly. Have it continue more stretched out all the way, and maybe have it do a short and fast little twirl in the middle, instead of ending with it. Try it out!  :)
