I think u need a pause when the harpoon hits the wood thing and have some pixels of debris come fall out for effect.
You could also have the rope flop to the floor then gets pulled tight to make it more realistic.

it would only flop if the rope was throw out then the harpoon was shot
but if its coming out as its being pulled along by the speed of the harpoon its not gunna flop
