Well I attempted a tree but
1 I want it to be top down, not sure if it is
2 dont know how to start with the leaves
3 unsure about the colors

im sure other folks have made threads about this as well, as it seems that foliage topics come up quite often, but i had written a post about this a little while ago with a sample tree i had made. Helm jumps in and makes some great points about how to refine your tree leaves to be more pixel-harmonious (my pixels are admittedly much sloppier than his) as well.

I think the trunk looks a bit awkward and you need to study the anatomy of a tree first before you start to create one from pixels. As for the leaves, it might depends on the season, such as in autumn - the leaves would have a golden / brownish color and in spring - lush green
