Skyscraper shading

on: January 30, 2011, 10:01:35 am
Hello, I have a problem.

I need to to fill this skyscraper with colors. But I dont know how to shade the wall.
This building is from a company so I cant just dirt the walls. I dont want to have boring walls.
Can someone help me? It would be really great.

Before thinking about shading the walls I would suggest you go and look at some reference of real skyscrapers. There are not nearly enough windows and they should be closer together, a lot closer. They could also have some depth to them, not be flush on the side of the building.

The roof also needs details, ventilation shaft thingies, an access door to the roof, a somewhat raised border, and whatnot.

Don't get discouraged, you will get better with practise :)

There are no ugly colours, only ugly combinations of colours.

Building on ptoing's suggestion, I would recommend maybe cutting down it down to just a single sky-scraper so you can get the hang of creating buildings.
